The People's Republic of China standard GB50222-95 "Code for Fire Protection of Interior Decoration Design of Buildings" stipulates that decorative materials are classified into four levels according to their combustion performance: A-level non-combustibility; B1-level non-combustibility; B2-level flammability; B3 flammability. Therefore, only fabrics that reach A and B1 levels can be called flame retardant fabrics. At present, in addition to non-textile fabrics that can achieve Class A flame retardant, the highest grade of flame retardant textile fabrics is B1.

Test Methods

Textile combustion test methods vary according to the principle, equipment and purpose. The test results of various test methods are difficult to compare with each other. The experimental results can only explain the pros and cons of the combustion performance of the sample to a certain extent. The combustion test method is mainly used to test the breadth (carbonized area and damage length), afterflame time and flame retardance time of the sample.

According to the relative position of the sample and the flame, it can be divided into vertical method, tilt method and horizontal method. The principle is to place a sample of a certain size vertically in a prescribed combustion test chamber, and ignite it with a prescribed ignition source for 12 seconds. After removing the ignition source, measure the afterflame time and smolder time of the sample. Determine the length of the damage by the specified method. This method can be used to determine the flame retardancy of clothing fabrics, decorative fabrics, and tent fabrics. China's textile flame retardant performance evaluation method is based on the burning rate of the fabric. Only textile products that meet the standard requirements can be regarded as flame retardant products.

China has formulated and implemented more than 10 different test method standards, such as: GB / T5454-1997 "Textile combustion performance test oxygen index method", GB / T5455-1997 "Textile combustion performance test vertical method", GB / TF5456-1997 "Determination of the Flame Propagation Performance of Textiles in the Combustion Performance Test in the Vertical Direction", etc. In China, GB / T5455-1997 "Textile Burning Performance Test Vertical Method" is mainly used for testing the flame retardancy of clothing.

Fabric performance

(1) Fire rating: M1, B1 in GB / T5455-1977 standard.

(2) Environmental protection standard: GB50325-2001. The content of chemical components in the fabric must not exceed the latest national standards and specifications.

(3) The content of harmful substances in the fabric must comply with GB1840-2003 National Basic Safety Technical Specification for Textile Products.

(4) Fire protection standard: GB / T5455-1997

(5) Process: anti-fouling, anti-mildew, anti-oil stain, anti-dirty, easy to clean, not easy to hide dirt, soft color, anti-deformation treatment, anti-static finishing.

(6) Effect and performance: no wrinkle, no fading, 5-6 grade fastness to the sun, good drape, no odor.

(7) Formaldehyde content: The product complies with the national standard E1 emission standard and is carefully woven with PVC-coated polyester fiber as the raw material. It does not contain glass fiber.
